80% DPS increase feels the same
I just replaced a 20c helmet with the same one for 80d.
According to the PoB, my DPS should increase by 80%.
Spoiler
But since the damage feels identical after a few maps, I have my doubts. I ran the same map with one of the helmets at a time. Was expecting to vaporize the T16 boss (Lighthouse, white). Felt the same. I tested it with Harbingers so that the skill costs increase the mana as much as possible. Damage remains identical in the character screen. I understand that the in-game statistics only show the hit damage from the weapon. But since everything is hit damage, shouldn't it also increase in the character screen? Im bad at math. The tooltip won't update they are notoriously useless
23% > 58% per 200 mana is gargantuan as a difference so I could believe it will be 80% however keep in mind it'll only be 80% if you are using that specific component of indigon in the way it expects. AFAIK when i looked at your character last that means just after arcane cloak has activated as that is what spends a very large chunk of your mana. So what it comes down to is measure it on identical maps and make sure you are configuring PoB correctly. The difference should be substantial |

I'll be honest, if I could have tested the helmet beforehand, I wouldn't have bought it.
I don't notice any difference after 10 maps including two 2 T16 Blight maps. Different topic: If i link Spellslinger/Tornado with Culling Strike, do I have the effect permanently in the tornado radius? Im bad at math.

Can you realistically estimate how much mana you spend in 4 sec for POB?
maybe you have a wrong number in "mana spent recently" and you already reach indigon cap with the old helmet reliably. Last edited by Gamingtwink on Oct 17, 2024, 4:46:07 PM

" I concur. Sounds like the most likely issue. Win 11, RTX 4080, i7-13700K, 32GB DDR5-6000, 7000 MB/s SSD, 4k Ultra
------------------------------------------------------ If PoE 2 has no CWDT builds, I will quit for good. |

That sounds reasonable.
So I can't generate more max damage with the helmet, but only reach the limit faster? I dont really know how to get the exact number. Probably the average of basic skill mana cost and max mana cost multiplied by attacks per second? I just looked at the skill costs & guessed that I easily reach the limit in 4 seconds and entered 2000. But if that's the limit anyway, how can PoB calculate more damage? The result shown is not over a time span but for 1 attack, right? Edit: Just tested it. For a T16 Boss i just spend 100 max mana. For the Guardian i reached 250 with 4 Attacks per second = 1000 mana/sec = 4k recently. So thats double the limit. Since the Mod is doubled compared to my old helmet that means that i exactly capped the 2k with it already and only profit from reaching it faster. Doesnt sound worth 80 div. Im bad at math. " By my understanding, the limit isn't "up to 2000 [mana spent recently]", it's "up to 2000% [increased spell damage]". With your new helmet, you're hitting that at 7000 mana spent recently instead of at 17400 mana spent recently. | |
Right.
Totally overlooked the %. But everybody knows im genetically bad at math, so there was never a chance from the beginning that i calculate that correct. Im bad at math.

This is why you want arcane cloak.
Its gonna spend 65% of your mana. Your manapool currently is about 5k, so arcane cloak will spend 3250 mana and then go on cooldown - but you will have this amount of mana spent as a baseline for 4 sec. Which means, if your goal was to have this sort of dmg buff consistently, you wanna make sure that arcane cloak is available every 4 sec or you accept that the dmg will be spikey and inconsistent. | |
Understand.
Atm Arcane Cloak lasts 3sec with an 4.17sec Cooldown. When i link it with more Duration its Duration goes up to 4.47sec Does it work like that? Because PoB doesnt care.
