Steam account characters lost after transfer

Sorry if the problem has already been adressed by someone else but I couldn't find any info on that issue. I tried to login today via steam (Nvidia GeForce Now on Mac) for the first time since the console transfer. When I logged in the game asked me to link my poe account using the website. Which I usually do and connect via Steam. But when I did, all my characters and every purchase I made and linked to my Steam account disappeared. It's like I never played PoE before on that account.

I also have an old Xbox account and those characters still exist (haven't played it since Ritual).

Kinda lost here and a bit worried of what I should do
