GGG - Thanks for the huge middle finger at us console supporters!
I was so happy many weeks / months ago when I heard someone first mention this possibility. How in the past spending a certain amount of $$$, supporting the company, would grant you EA.
When the stream came along and it was stated that the amount was $480, I was thrilled! Played the game since day 1 it was available on PS4 ( played before on PC way back in beta ) and spent well over $500. And then the sentence was completed, " for PC ". Wow. Now to get EA access for console players you are forced to buy the pack no matter what. This absolutely felt like a massive middle finger to every console supporter. Unbelievable. " Agreed 100%, this is unfair and needs rectifying ASAP I am way over requirement but if this PC only Lifetime Supporter policy remains I will still play but never spend a single cent again! EDIT: This has since I posted been clarified by GGG (thank you for that and the speed it was done), it has been rectified and I will continue my (estimated) near double free EA access key investment with pleasure. not to be too gatekeepy, but POE always started of as a PC game first.
they branched out to consoles only later. this is not similar to how newer game engines are created to have built in cross platform support. you can be upset that POE2 will lag behind in terms of console support, but i would instead remind you guys, having a console/port/version is something you should be happy for. GGG could have just chosen to skip consoles entirely and let POE be a 100% pure PC game and not worry about any console issues. also when opening up the game to consoles, definitely there will be problems with optimization or somethings features might be lagging behind pc releases. yeah it sucks but count your blessings. they could have just given you a bigger middle finger and not chosen to make a console version entirely. " https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3587981 I'd assume this includes all platforms. |
|
"As we have also announced earlier, if you've purchased a top-tier supporter pack in the past or have spent $480 USD or more in lifetime purchases in Path of Exile on a single platform, you'll automatically have access to Path of Exile 2
"the threshold is based on purchases made on one platform." Going by this, if you have over 480 in PS, you should get access. |

" That is such a crappy reply. It doesn't matter where the game started out, only where it is now and that includes consoles. As a PC only player, this isn't right and frankly.. Your whole "count your blessings, you could have had nothing" attitude is bullcrap tbh. I hope you see the error of what you said and move on from that kind of thought process.. |

didnt johnathan have an interview with that sony excecutive and they couldnt make a deal with Playstation? like this isnt even GGGs fault, Sony is just being greedy. yall need to relax.

" I believe that’s why console PoE2 information was later than PC was, because Sony negotiations were still going on. Because we now have a unified user database you can be 99% sure that’s done and dealt with now. The critical part on the official post is the 480$ on ONE (any) platform, so you spend 470$ on PC and then 470$ on PS or XB you are screwed (that’s the royalties issue your are inferring I believe) Last edited by Timbo Zero#8289 on Nov 22, 2024, 5:31:29 AM

" i could agree with you blindly and shake my fists at ggg but that doesnt change the truth in what i said. as much as you hate what i said you know in your heart its true. in fact old school gamers actually hated devs for making a console port of their fav games. look at diablo3, why do we have 6 skill slots while in d2 we had way more? reason simply is because they wanted to easily transition to console. not too long later they did make a d3 console port. remember dungeon siege? ds1/ds2 were few of the OG classless arpgs back in the day. one reason it flopped hard was because it was developed with console sensibility in mind. in fact, if we're being honest, many pc only gamers still have the notion that any development time spent on a console version, takes away effort that could be put directly into the core game. which is why i mentioned unreal engine. newer game engines solve this problem by being cross platform by default. POE was made practically from scratch. have you any idea how mind bogglingly crazy that is? then these crazy folks at GGG actually made a console version. they didnt need to but they did it anyway. they knew most of the playerbase wouldnt care but they did that for YOU and players like you. and the moment things go SLIGHTLY SOUR, you guys lash out at them and say they've abandoned you. " There is truth, PoE existed for a couple of years before Xbox and couple more before PlayStation. And there is ‘dignified’, we have ‘all’ spent money (some console players more than some PC players) and deserve the same rights. That all said GGG have clarified the issue with truth that each platform will each be able to qualify. This fact entirely negates my (second poster) comment in full, and I am back to my clearly (from banners alone) continued investment in something that brings me great pleasure.
