PoE2 Minion with Weapon Swap

Hey there,

would be interested to know how Weapon Swap effects activ Minions?

As we know swaping weapon automatic chances the Skill Tree. Do Minions keep there Stats (i guess they do), but how about Weapon Stats like +Spirit to Summon more, do i lose Spirit and this way 1 or 2 Minions?

I personally like the idea of playing Minion while doing active Damage on my Weapon swap :)

i was wondering about the same topic. i asked around a bit but could not get a proper answer... i dont know wether the minions keep the modifiers from the skilltree in the first place on barswap and secondly: if the minions are bound by weapon skill, you should at least not be able to activate the associated skills, but do the permanent minions disappear on weapon swap? we don't know yet i guess.
it would be mandatory to know before going for a build though i guess. i was thinking about frostskills and frost minions or chaos skills and chaos minions... so scepter on front and staff on back.

It was a question in an interview with Jonathan. Here you go. I seen in two interviews now it's mentioned your minions do die on weapon swap if your current spirit won't support keeping them all alive.


For 2nd part of your question. i am nearly 100% certain when you swap weapons stats will immediately affect your minions, i highly doubt you will be able to spawn your minions with one weapon then swap to another and your minions retain buffs of your previous weapon.

I guess it would be hard to balance this if you kind of have full Minion Support on Weapon 1 and Full Fire Spec on Weapon 2, while Minions stay full Power activ.

We will see, but I really like the idea and can't wait to start playing :)

Kinda sad that Minions pretty much dont work at all with the new weapon specialization stuff.
