that is not closed beta nor open beta, there will be no wipe.

but there will also be no league for poe 2 at the start of EA.
so everyone will start in standard of PoE 2 and every new league you will need to start again from scratch just like in poe 1
The plan is to not have wipes but at the end of EA your characters will be rolled into their own separate league rather than standard so the charters played and the items/currency gained will be of little use past the end of EA.

From how it was mentioned was PoE2 EA will have "leagues" similar to current Necro-Settlers, when major content is released during EA. Your characters in this "league" can be merged back into "EA Standard" and at the end/start of a new update all will be merged. At least that's how I understood it.

As for the OPs concern it also sounds like any characters made in EA will have their own EA Standard after full release.
Resetting, or abandoning (moving to some other category) the early access characters in Path of Exile 2 upon its official release would be highly frustrating for dedicated players who have already invested significant time and effort into their characters. These players have experienced the game's mechanics, learned its nuances, and put considerable energy into progressing through the early access content. A reset/abandon would feel like a complete disregard for our commitment and progress, alienating a loyal player base.

Too, it will lead to a loss of player morale, as those who have invested time into creating optimal builds or experimenting with the game's new features would see all their efforts wiped out. Instead of a reset/abandon, allowing early access characters to persist would respect the contributions of players and provide a smoother transition into the full release, fostering a sense of continuity and accomplishment.

If the claim that game is going to change SO much that you -break- builds, then it is really nothing but a total waste of our time playing EA, at all. The point of these types of games is to figure out a build that works, then keep tweaking it looking to both perfect the gear and skills over time. I, and a great many players, do not want to be forced every 5 minutes to start over and not be able to continue to play with everyone else/new stuff. Breaking skills and builds as you introduce new things to the game, simply means you didn't plan very far ahead, at all, or didn't plan correctly initially.

If you want to play seasonal content then resets are a part of that. This is standard in every seasonal arpg.

This is a terrible argument, and you seriously underestimate how difficult it is to get these things right. Plus, this has already been happening forever, it's called leagues.

If you're getting upset over this, for the reasons you state, you're not "dedicated", "committed", or "loyal", as you claim. I don't think most of the dedicated players care tbh. They may just be seeing this as a warm up / practice session.
