Difficulty in poe2
As we dont have a subforum for poe2 yet, I decided to post here. From what we have seen right now I can't say too much about the game yet, but one thing I really noticed: difficulty seems to be quite high.
In the videos shown it often seems to be challenging to fight basic (white) monster packs already, at least with some classes, and from the latest interview we also know that it is possible to be one-shot in maps by rare monsters in some cases. I remember that several leagues ago, poe1 was simply too hard. It had this issue for a long time, until monster damage and player defenses were finally reworked. I hope you won't do the same mistake in poe2, as this could drive away a lot of the newer players quite fast. Right now it seems that the game goes a bit too much in the direction of elden ring. It all comes down to the question, if the game is fun throughout, or if it feels like "a job" at some point of playing. If you have a real job besides gaming, you don't want to do a second job. Too much grinding (or farming) without proper purpose can lead to this feeling. In all honesty, that was also why I stopped this league of poe1 at a point, where any further proper upgrade would have required 100 divines or more. It just wasn't worth the time and it wasn't much fun either. Personally I think there could be other long-term incentives that would be more fun: - more player interaction, through pvp (royale?), as explained more detail in my feedback on poe1 - a higher level cap, or a much harder to reach level 100. This would facilitate team play and motivation, to manage the challenge faster and more effectively. - an endgame area, where all players or many players can meet and interact in different ways (technically not impossible, if you do this in a smart way) So I just hope you get the difficulty right, and it won't be too hard, but also not too easy :) Any thoughts on this are welcome. See my large and detailed feedback on poe1 (Settlers league) here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3585013 Includes also suggestions for new features and content.
