POE 2 ascendancy respec

Hey GGG, please allow for POE 2 ascendancy respec.

It doesn't make sense / will not be fun for players of a new game getting trapped into an ascendancy if they want to try another one within the same class.


Many players know which class they want to play but will not be sure of which ascendancy until we learn more about POE2 and start see how the items combine with skills and trees etc..

It will feel really lame if we are withholding ascending while we learn more about strategy combinations in fear of getting trapped into the wrong one.

I actually disagree with you on this one.
Your ascendancy IS your class, the base class is just a starting point. LE had the right idea by making it permanent.
It will be like asking to switch from a marauder to a ranger trough an ultimatum run.
It's a good change in my opinion, making the ascendancy permanent. There is no wrong choice in terms of ascendancy, all have power, it comes down to how you use it.

the campaign will get old real fast like this. its peoples first playthrough. why cant we test out what we like without having to start the campaign all over?

There's a lot of weird gatekeeping out of strange pride on this topic.

What's so bad about respeccing an ascendancy? If you are worried about constant swapping, make it not so easy then. And if it's not such a big deal... then why limit respeccing?

I agree that it should be able to respec, just like how it did in PoE1. Otherwise, it's a literal downgrade.

I can understand it not being in EA because... it's EA.

We don’t know but based on last poe1 league which was a test of gold etc coming in poe2, you can respec points on the tree for gold and more than likely the ascendancy as well (although you might have to run ‘trial’ again to do the actual base ascendancy change and then be able to spend all the points you’d earned to that point)
