PoE2 death in maps - disconnects

Hi, sorry if this was already addressed but,

Since in PoE2, when you die in a map, the map is considered failed, does that mean that a disconnect/crash will brick your map too?

Or will softcore players have to resort to using logout macros?

OR will the logout system be completely removed, not preventing character deaths at all?

None of these seem healthy for the game imo. I hope GGG has something in mind to address this.

Interesting what information comes through to people and what information doesnt. Or what they focus on and what they ignore.

To be fair, they're doing their best. Some things will inevitably be overlooked. That's why we have Early Access:))) It's just important that we do our part and voice our concerns.

There has to be a safety net of some sort. If not some players may never set foot on the atlas if the game runs like PS version currently does for most people!
It has been said by Jonathan that a logout or disconnect will count as a ‘paused game’ as soon as the server detects it.

Hmmm interesting. The problem, in that case, will be that this will likely lead to a logout macro meta in softcore. Which, I don't see GGG being happy with tbh. Guess we'll see...

Would it though? Wouldn't you just log in right back where you were like you do in the campaign? I don't see how that helps when you can already pause manually. Or did I misunderstand your point?

It would not, the typical ‘logout macro’ use is when in great danger and in PoE1 it would reset you to zone start/last checkpoint such as a portal. In PoE2 you’d macro, login in and find yourself in the same exact bad place you logged out to avoid.
Or dead.

ahhhh thanks for the replies, I get it. For some reason I thought the "pause" was just a backend thing and it would reset you to your hideout.
