" After early access sure. They should give us the option to respec during EA doe. More people testing things out = better for the game over all. If they decide to make the ascendancy choice permanent after EA that would be completely fine. |

" I’d argue for the exact opposite, if it’s in EA to maintain player retention during the testing that’s ok(ish) but in final game it has no place imo (ALL typos lack of caps, punctuation and general errors are copyright Timbo Industries - Laziness Division)

" Na testing out in EA is more important atm. If people don´t like to have the ascandency permanently locked its fine to not have that. But this is the best option we have to try out things without having millions of guides. |

Only if they remove the extra atlas trees from PoE1 would i +1
Unless balance only matters in PoE2? The way things are both games should have consistency if they're supposed to run side by side as GGG described it. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Dec 3, 2024, 3:46:11 AM

GGG don't want respec of Ascendencies because they want to be able to have some that are more endgame-orientated than others. Gemling is only possible because you pay a price by being worse than Witchhunter until endgame.
I think we're safe and this is a permanent change. |

" That's fine as long as its consistent between products, This was sold to us as an expansion to PoE1 so it needs to align at some point or the request to fund PoE2 as an expansion for many years will have been ultimately a lie :/ They destroyed standard players savings and a bunch of other fundamental changes and those better not be for nothing after all these years supporting them. *sad cat face* Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Dec 3, 2024, 4:07:38 AM

" It's been YEARS since they said this was no longer an expansion. So we've been supporting GGG knowingly, that PoE2 was a new thing. In any case, it appears that you haven't done any supporting in that period anyway, so perhaps don't play it out like you did. It's like not voting and then complaining about the result of the vote. |

" You can't see my purchases Exile, If you're going off supporter packs that's not very definitive, Not every purchase comes with a (badge) And they did not properly communicate the split in my opinion for many years despite asking for continued support. And I'm historically very poor and can't afford to buy much full on supporter packs so most of my purchases are small ones, Thanks for reminding me. Also i was gonna buy the void core pack and a bunch of stuff but idk about you when my rent was due i thought it was a good idea to pay that over (another forum badge) as it would be kind of hard to play the game under a bridge. ^and that was after i purchased a 30$ pack for the first time which they banned me for a mistake on their end for over 30 days only unbanning me because i posted their emails publicly proving they didn't even read my emails which i had been sending them for months while i battled covid day and night. So yeah... After all of that i still believe in GGG but i am a little salty too. __________________ Back on topic: I lean towards (no respec) but i also feel for players who are less experienced in general not having the ability to experiment could harm their experience too. So from my perspective an expensive respec option should be added, but if its again too expensive it harms less experienced players potentially. I would not worry about the last few years of POE1 supporting POE2 development.. I will make a wager that POE2 will have 2-4x the player base and revenue generation of POE1 by 1 year after 1.0.. and that money will also funnel back into POE1.
POE1 made about $80M in revenue in 2023, while D4 and Diablo Immortal *each* made about $700M in similar year. So a more mainstream focused POE should have the potential to bring in lots more resources to GGG, which I believe will only be a good thing for both games. I hope that the non-changable ascendancies is there percieved tradeoff for making passive-point respecting nearly free... because mainstream players will not accept abandoning 30+ hours of playtime to reroll to fix a build. They will just quit. Many of us have done it in our early days of POE (I did), we are just the few that came back. |
