Will my laptop burn when I try play PoE 2?
Hello,
I have question. About poe2 expectations. Game actualy looks badass... but i am worried mine i7 13650HX and RTX 4060 will burn :D Currently in PoE i have 120 stable but I caped them and sometimes getting drops to 100 and i notice stutter when is a intensive fight around me :D. Idk if my laptop is just weak piece of trash (Rog Strix G16 2023) What do you think? Anyone know some fix to make PoE more stable. CPU latency is around 2ms-3ms all the time only when i teleport to city it jumps to 9-12ms for a 2 seconds Last bumped on Dec 3, 2024, 6:27:20 PM

PoE 2 will have better performance compared to PoE 1.

If it will burn depends on the state your laptop is in
If you don't have problems with overheating, your laptop is more than good enough Last edited by Jokke1989#7206 on Dec 3, 2024, 4:20:24 PM

the parts are alright so it really depends on how much dust is in your laptop and how well its engineered in terms of air flow

I'm expecting to be allright with my very old GTX 1060 6 GB even
Minimum GPU listed is a GTX 960 I'd assume minimum in 2024 means at the very least 30 fps low-medium in 1080p If not, I'll just play later, or maybe stream it if it's on geforce now (heard it probably would be) But I have a feeling it will be well optimized They said it would be at least playable on steam deck |

" You'll be fine if you're willing to compromise
Spoiler
4060m is slower than a 1080Ti, but your CPU is all good. Not sure about your Ram, and storage, but you should be ok running at low-medium settings at 1080 (which is what I'm guessing you're currently running at on alch and go t16?).
You won't be running Beyond, 100% deli, Harbinger, 400% quant T17s with Feared, so you may even get similar performance due to the content being much slower and less complicated. Your GPU is going to be doing far more work this time around though. The most powerful consumer-grade gaming PCs you can build cannot run this game at 120FPS with all settings maxed at 4k during the scenario I outlined above. Get a cooler, or place a fan near your laptop, aligning the flow of the direction of the exhaust to encourage cooling. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
