Can we download the Standalone POE 2 and put it in the Steam directory???
If Steam wont let us predownload until launch then would it be possible to just download the Standalone and just copy paste it into Steam game apps folder and when the game becomes available on Steam I could just click on VERIFY INTERGRITY OF GAME FILES which imo should just download the few Megabytes of extra Steam data and thats it right?

thats not how it works you would still need to use stand alone client to play

You mean like how you could torrent the game and then copy and paste the pack files into whatever directory and then have it maybe work?

" Yeah I mean its the same game same files just missing Steam specific security files which Steam would then fill out if you do integrity check.. I think. Mathils actual cat

"It's been like over 10 years since I did this, but I have a strange feeling like the answer is yes. Wait for Steam to create the folder, pop the content in, and do an integrity check to get it to recognise the files. |

" how do you wait for steam to create the folder if you wont be able to launch poe 2 until its out? |

"Yeah, It's a different context where you have to wait for it to be out on Steam (or know the base folder structure). I've never tried to do it on a launch such as this, also doing an integrity check on Steam can sometimes take AGES anyway... Im assuming the integrity check would only work once its available through steam? |

It might just work, since verify files integrity will just download the missing files, update us when you try it.
