PoE 2 - Game Crashes Immediately After Launch & MTX Bug
Hi everyone,
I’d like to report two issues I’ve encountered while playing Path of Exile 2: 1. Frequent Crashes on Startup (Steam) The game often crashes immediately after I launch it through Steam. There’s no error message or warning – the game just closes by itself. I’ve already tried verifying the game files and ensuring all my drivers are up to date, but the issue persists. 2. MTX Bug I also experienced a crash related to MTX items. It seems the game couldn’t load the MTX properly, causing the game to crash. This happened despite me using default settings and no third-party tools. ![]() I’ve attached an image showing the second issue for reference. Is anyone else experiencing similar problems, or does someone know a workaround? I hope this gets addressed in an upcoming patch because the game looks amazing, and I’m eager to dive into it properly. Thanks in advance! Immediately after startup, upon reaching the Login screen, the game is crashing my PC, requiring a manual restart.
All my software is up to date, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still crashing. |

Same for me, just installed it and ran it through the PoE launcher. It crashes during startup with no error messages and brings me back to the desktop. One time, the computer instantly restarted. Running with Ryzen 7 5700X and Radeon RX 7800 XT.
And one time when running the launcher again, it was trying to reallocate space for the game again, as it wanted to reinstall it. Edit: I had to update my BIOS, then it's working. I'm using an ASUS TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II and BIOS was from 2022. So check your BIOS if it needs an update. Last edited by Flintan86#3706 on Dec 8, 2024, 7:46:39 PM

Mine was working fine earlier this morning, but now it gets halfway into the GGG loading screen, freezes up, then exits to desktop with no error message. Won't start at all.

" How do you find this info? As for what I can contribute, it seems like I had a small update over the past 6 hours which I think has caused this to happen to me as well, 29 hours already no problems before the micro patch I had but I can't verify that. |
