weapon swap and basic attack

is it possible to switch my basic attack when I swap weapons

I like having my basic attack bound to the same key and currently if I want to use basic attacks for both weapons I need to bind them to different key since they don't swap with the weapon, I understand that this is in part because skills can now swap weapons, but it would be really helpful if it is possible

I'm playing Sorceress, so I'm not familiar with basic attacks and weapon swapping. But if my staff in Weapon I provides a skill, let's say Fire Bolt, and the one in Weapon II provides another skill like Lighting Bolt, then those two skills have to be used with their respective weapons. However, any other spell skill I have can be configured to work with one or both of Weapon I/II via the Skill Gem UI.

The issue is that the hotbar doesn't change.

As a Sorcerer I have two staffs. One grants lightning bolt, the other fire bolt.

The problem is the hotbar cannot be configured to switch your left click assignment on weapon swap.

So when I swap to the fire staff, my left click hotbar assignment is still the lightning bolt. If I do the left click, it just swaps back to the lightning staff in order to shoot the lightning bolt.

We need the capability to have the hotbar change when you weapon swap! This is fundamental to the whole thing. Basically some mechanic where you can create a whole new hotbar skill assignment that is also tied to the weapon swap.

Additional clarity:

When I swap to Fire Staff, the left click assignment should be Fire Bolt.

When I swap to Lightning Staff, the left click assignment should be Lightning Bolt.

It's not possible to do that right now, you can only share the one hotbar with both weapons.

Simply here to upvote this possibility. I am playing a Titan Warrior with a "Leap Slam" priming for stuns to clear with "Boneshatter" afterwards. As it depends on the difficulty of the mobs/area, sometimes I need to swap between my one-handed to my two-handed mace to prime for stuns on the first leap slam in packs. Each time, I have to manually select my "Mace Strike" attack to one-handed or two-handed for my left-click.
