POE2 isn't "Hard." It's unfun.

Played all day yesterday and this morning. Tried several classes, respeced for more defense, shield, health, offense, everything.

It would be one thing if the game gradually progressed in challenge in a fun way. It would even be OK if as you approached end game there were tiers of encounters that really pushed even the most professional full time gamer to the limits.

If I couldn't defeat that content, I would at least still have a lot of game that I could play instead. This game starts you out on a mission to punish from moment one. It's not fun.

I am sick to death of every game trying to be dark souls. I've heard people saying that POE1 was "hard" in the beginning. First of all, no it wasn't - not like this. I wanted a game the felt like an evolution of POE1 or ARPGS in general. This has totally transformed it into the kind of game that is NEVER fun for me to play, and excludes me from enjoying the game at all.

I'm just gutted. It's such a disappointment.

cant play the pants-less old templar. unplayable ;)

he was my fav in poe1
Meanwhile its almost everything i wanted. You cant please everyone.
I've got to disagree. PoE2 is the first ARPG I've ever played that wasn't just mindlessly spamming the same ability over and over. Having to display a little mechanical skill outside of the skill tree to kill something is like breath of fresh air. Luckily, PoE1 is going to be supported for the foreseeable future.
Fun for me
Well... you got poe 1

True Dat
Agree for beign unfun. 1 rare item per hour, no support skill drops, super low damage increase, tons of HP on bosses compared to our damage.
Maybe late game will be fun, but early game is terrible if not playing one from meta S++ tier builds
Dodge roll is not a character anility. Yes you will be spamming the same 2 abilities over and over. Only you will be getting a white item for it after spamming said 2 abilities once every 3-5 dodge rolls + repositiining movement for many attempts. I think they refocused on the end game because they realized the campaign with its terrible drops and mindless slog through bullet sponges with very little flask recovery or item drops, is basocally dog water. Then instead of actually building new endgame for poe2 they made retreads of old highly disliked poe1 league content.
Edit to delete dupe post. Which btw with it almost being 2025 maybe just maybe you should implememt a mobile friendly version of your forum?

It's amusing to see people who, just a week ago, were complaining that POE1 is too complex theoretically, now flexing that the mechanical difficulty of POE2 is the game's greatest advantage. It's obvious, though, that theoretical complexity > mechanical complexity, as even a monkey can be taught to time a dodge correctly.
