Constant frame rate drops in PoE2
Started this morning. Game constantly freezes every few seconds.
Couldn't figure out how to post a picture sorry, but using F1 to show system data where it shows CPU, GPU, NETWORK, etc... everything spikes every few seconds, locking up the game. Tried PoE 1 just to see if it happens there, it does not. PC specs- Intel i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz 32gb RAM Windows 10 Nvidia RTX 4070ti Last bumped on Dec 26, 2024, 2:32:44 AM

have same issue, played for 2 days fine and now i have same CPU spikes. Even when standing. SO weird. Why?

Same. Had MUCH better performance on day 1 than now, drops to 25-30 fps during fights with almost minimal settings, no browsers or other apps running, only PoE2.

Yes it seems the game put cpu time high pressure, while gpu is not always at 100℅ and periodically drops.

Hope it will be patches soon, actually vulkan is performing better for me, but loading time and cpu pressure is insane, dx 11 is straight worse, and have a tons of spikes,dx 12 smoother then 11 , yet inconsistent..

This will probably fix your problem... Those white lines.... I remember them well!

Actually i may have found the root cause: Its chat messages.
Iam able to recreate massive cpu lag by simply quickly enabling and disabling chat in the options. Iam usally in Global 1 and Trade 1 (though hidden). Now if i go to another global/trade that nobody uses my spikes disappeared. So far this is the only things that made the spikes disappear and it also explains the strange intervals of the spikes. Every time someone writes a message in chat you get a massive cpu spike. There may be more to it but i think thats it. |

your solution works in mine case too. no more spikes. i just disabled the Chat from Options-Interface skroll down and find Chat.
Thanks! |
