New All-Time peak just now, with 544k players on Steam, the game is getting even more popular

Well done and congratulations GGG! Looking forward to another decade of absolute peak arpg gaming, except now I can enjoy and support two games simultaneously.

This is a massive W for the genre.

It’s also funny to see majority of feedback posts are negative on the forums. I guess 99% are too busy enjoying the game and it’s just a small number of people disliking it.

Yup the feedback complainers are the minority

It is the end of the weekend though so will probably see the number drop on steam but yea. Its an amazing game, everything I wanted and more and its only EA missing like half the ascendancies.

Pretty eye opening for the industry. Loving melee as well

In my opinion a lot of the negativity comes from people who thought PoE 2 will be like 1, but with better graphics and new classes. Everyone who was actively following it's development and updates knew years in advance that this will be an entirely different game. Especially after announcing that they're splitting the game going forward.

Still, I'd say it paid of for GGG. They have two games now and can appeal both, the established PoE 1 playerbase and the now new, PoE 2 playerbase. In the end it's us players who benefit, options are always good and welcomed!

Gonna be real interesting looking back on this in a couple years down the line. I'm excited!

It's only steam numbers so the real numbers are likely close to a million players if you account standalone and console players.

Numbers will prob peak even higher once the game is out of early access and f2p for everyone.

Nice numbers, good job GGG. However it is interesting how many of them are actual new players unfamiliar with poe1. For now I think these are the Old Guard resurrected temporarily, on a cooldown, who were already addicted to poe.

Looking at just the forum, obviously a tiny portion of players, you can easily see a good amount of new players. So yes there's a good chunk of fresh players who've started out PoE2 and will start it out once it's f2p lol

I wouldn't count on any metrics until after full release and a full content cycle, the way hype waves hit games and fall off is far too violent these days with so much choice available.
