Kiwi pet for poe1 question

I recently was curious about the poe2 kiwi pet I was awarded a free key due to lifetime support not spending 480$ or the 30 dollar purchase so I don't get a kiwi which is totally fine

But I realized i joined this game in open beta January 2013 and was it the same at that time? I don't have a kiwi pet from poe1 . was it closed beta only??

Yes, the original kiwi pets were for closed beta supporters only. The top tier "Diamond" supporter pack for $1,000 USD let you design a unique item. Still kicking myself for not doing that.
