Drowning Orbs

Incredibly unfun, OP, and annoying.
Either reduce the slow or increase the time to kill or make them not instant death/so much dot it might as well be instant death. Last bumped on Dec 20, 2024, 8:15:52 PM

I second you on this one! 2 sec kill doesn't make sense at all. I face those ugly blue witches last night. One of the worst normal monster. Hard to see in action and if you have offencd god in some way that you have two at the same time. Dead dead dead! Now lets have a thought for many hardcore player sacrifice.🙏 |

Well, they are huge, slooow projectiles, I think they should hurt A LOT if you happen to eat one. On my monk I got hit by one (because, you know, how bad could that be? curiosity killed the monk...), died, and never came close to one again, they're really easy to avoid...
...if you happen to have good move speed and monk mobility. This said, I think the real problem is they completely ignore all the defensive layers we've build up. They're like boss slams: the only solution is "don't get hit". I think they would be ok as a boss mechanic, but are out of line for white mobs. BTW, if my memory serves me, they are a part of an endgame boss arena in PoE... in other words, they were designed for a boss fight in a game with MUCH more mobility. |

" I watched the video. The "Hardcore league" note on the top-right of the screen made it painful to watch. I am sorry for that death. The water orbs are very obvious, they are slow, the 3 seconds timer is okay, but... if you don't already know it, it's not immediately obvious that the innocent-looking floating water blob will kill you in 3 seconds. Something should be improved in the way it's being presented to the player. The player must know he has to react immediately to the threat of imminent death. And this is currently missing. |

" It's fine if they're damaging, but any damage that ignores your defensive layers and health pool is just annoying. I also made this complaint on day 2 or so, so the roll changes hadn't hit and the issue was just being body blocked into them. I also was playing a bone based caster build at the time that channels to charge attacks, so they were ultra annoying. The orbs themselves are not the problem despite feeling bad. The problem is the way the game spams garbage mobs that are surprisingly tanky to protect other mobs that can apparently kill you in 2 seconds. Combine that with bodyblocking, vines, cripples, freezes, other slows etc... It's not something that halted progression for me or anything, I just think it's terribly annoying and feels extremely bad because it ignores all defense and just says 1-2 dead. |
