Warrior and the Sekhema Trial is so bad as to make me want to stop playing the game
Beginning this game with a Warrior and an empty stash is already a brutal affair.
Out of the gate there's loads of enemies who explode on death and/or leave behind AOE ground effects that deal brutal damage. Every early game boss seems to have icy ground effects that slow you right down, meaning your attacks and dodge rolls are enfeebled, and given you need to kill a boss to get re-roll options it's simply brutal. The only option I had was to equip bleed on a totem and spend 20 minutes running in circles as engaging any early boss in melee is suicidal. Once you kill the early game boss you get access to respec, which is so expensive it's not even worth doing. It'd be faster to start a new character and speed run back to the same point as the drop rate is next to useless. Through all this I persisted. I grinded and respecced to get max HP, life regen, and burn damage so at least I could have a chance. When I invariably got stuck in fights with exploding enemies that I could not feasibly avoid, I had to wait for someone in chat to team up and assist me. I finally started getting somewhere once I got Tier 5 skills and decent passives, and then encountered the Trials of Sekhema. Instantly I'm done with this character. It's simply not possible to play a melee brawler class and get through the trials. I can't fight anything, I'm not fast enough to dodge everything, and I simply can't engage the boss in any meaningful way. The only way I can beat these trials is by teaming up with someone over-levelled to all hell, and have them map clear for me. This is not fun. I cannot fathom who thought this was a good idea! It's as though every play-tester only played ranged heroes, and no one ever thought to ask a casual/non-PoE player to attempt to get up to, and past the trial. So for now, I think I'll just have to accept that the ~10 hours of playthrough that I have are lost and start again. This sucks. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 3:56:10 PM

I totally agree with OP. I have 74 titan warrior and I can't even complete the impossible trial of the sekhemas. All range skills of warrior is slow as hell ! How on earth warrior is meant to kill mobs from range while I am waiting to complete the animation of sunder skill ??? Mobs literally hits me under a second but my beloved slow as heck sunder can't even finish the animation forget about killing the mobs. The first trial is kinda ok , grinded and managed to get past second too but third trial it's literally impossible cos can't kill mobs unless you are doing escape trials and I am not even mentioning grinding for another trial key after dying.. yes I understand this game is beta but the frustration level is so so high.
Just to get passed this I tried 5 different builds but all of them failed and today I got bored and deleted the game. Ps: Devs should also should have checked how console players were meant to play this game without hitting the peak of frustration levels. Why there is even mob target lock ? How I am supposed to click on shrines on time trial why the class is trying to kill the mob rather than clicking the shrine?? Oh hang on you need to choose interact skill to avoid that and have to sacrifice one of your main skill slot. This game is not for console players , trying , organising stash all those takes literally so long. I played this game with ps5 on big screen TV but graphic quality is a disaster , constant low FPS issues , very bad scaling and animations. Eg you use one overwhelming presence buff and you get that weird shadowy animation on the mobs I mean what is that o felt like I was playing in early 2000s .I am not a pc player and I never will be but I paid $30 dollars for the pain and eye irritation |

I have been playing a Sorcerer. I have to say I am a casual 47 year old player here, so I cant just dump hours into gaming. When confronted with these "Trials" (Both the Sekhemas and the Chaos ones) where contrary to the way the whole game used to work -that is if you die you spawn at the last checkpoint- now you are forced to start from scratch all over again felt like a really cheap an unethical way to imposse some arbitrary measure of "difficulty".
Not only it feels like lazy design, what is worse you feel the devs are messing with our precious real life time. I think the way to go would be to be consistent with the way the REST OF THE GAME FROM THE BEGINING WORKS, since that is what you trained us for right? That is: You spawn from your last checkpoint. This for me is the real underlying problem: during the trials the "Rules of the Game" are altered for the sake of arbitrary "difficulty". But again, there are thousands of more creative ways to do this. Just chaging the rules is at best, lazy design. If from the very begining dying meant having to start from lvl1 again, I would not have complained. It is like sitting at a Poker table and then after a few rounds, someone says ok this time we play Black Jack. There is for sure another table over there for Black Jack if you want. But nope, you have to play Black Jack at a Poker table or you wont be able to keep playing Poker anymore. How fair is that? And that was it for me. Bye POE until you stop forcing me to play a game I didnt sign up for. Last edited by 100luz#0970 on Dec 15, 2024, 1:23:46 PM

" It's even worse than that because you can't restart without a new token. This afternoon, i tried the third trial, (ultimatum and sanctum) with my lvl 70 character ; both zone were lvl 60 and 62. With 10 level over the mobs and an appropriate build ( i rolled over the campaign), it should have been easy. I failed both them. For sanctum, it was in the last third stage, 2 rooms before the final boss For Ultimatum, it was in the 4th room ( over 7). I can't even retry because my others tokens are lvl 68 and there is no chance for me to get 'em if i failed 60 & 62. That's a lot of frustration and i stopped POE 2 for now. On the current state, i think that something like 3% of the player base can beat the third trial and something like 0.1% for the fourth trial. More players can probably too by doing only pure meta build which is probably not what GGG want. I stay confident in GGG and hope they will fix that promptly.
