PlayStation cross save?

Linked my account to my PS account and assumed “cross save” would allow me to use my accounts characters on both my ps5 and my friends…. So I made a character on his ps5 using my account and it turns out… on my ps5 I don’t have access to my character even though my account is linked and I’m using the same PS account that I used to make the character on his ps5… not a huge deal but a bit of a disappointment… even old games like bo3 let me play split screen on someone else’s PS and keep progress locally on my own PS. Kinda makes me wonder what linking my PlayStation account even did?

if you were trying to play couch coop, it only use one account unlike the competition from the bliz... freezing guys... that you can couch coop using different accounts.. at least for now, at some point might be possible
