Constant crashes and stuttering on DirectX12
I am experiencing constant crashes (once every 5-10 minutes) when using DX12. When I switch to Vulcan, the game crashes maybe once per day. No other settings seem to affect this behaviour.
On top of this, I get much better FPS on Vulcan. When on DX12, I get a 30% drop in fps and my pc becomes very noisy. Here are my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Video Card: Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB Video Card Last edited by horizon21#2586 on Dec 10, 2024, 7:33:22 AM Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 2:01:39 PM

Some of the stuttering was due to CPU spikes, which reduced after I disabled nVidia Reflex.

Another important tidbit - the issue seems to be fixed by updating the bios of my motherboard (MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI) to the latest beta bios (that supposedly mainly has improvements for Ryzen 9800X3D, and I'm using 7800X3D).

I have a similar issue. The problem arises specifically when portals are active, and I try to enter one. It briefly processes, and then my computer completely freezes—nothing works, not the mouse, keyboard, or anything else. There's no way to test it further.
The game log doesn't show any errors, and Windows Event Viewer also doesn't indicate any issues. I'm using an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32GB G.Skill memory, and an NVIDIA GPU RTX 3080 Suprim. Windows 11 Pro 24H2 OS build 26100.2605. |

I was wrong about the bios upgrade helping - it did not. However, reverting to Windows 11 23H2 seems to have finally fixed the issue for me.
