Gas grenade is completely bugged

I am french so sorry if my english is not perfect.

I have been testing some things with the gas grenade to see how good it was compared to explosive grenade.

So i started to check if it was multi hitting with the help of Bonestorm.
Stacking Bonestorm on an ennemy helped me see how explosive grenade was multi hitting si tried it with the gas grenade and it didn't worked as planned.

But maybe it was just not using Bonestorm stacks, it's possible.

So i started a bigger test with damages.

I went to fight for the Titan boss Zalmarath who is BIG so that my gas explosion will touch him easely.

I tried 3 different setups :

2 projectiles

5 projectiles

15 projectiles (3 stacks of 5)

And i checked damage frame by frame (not ideal but it worked pretty well it's easy to see when explosions dmage are applied)

It turns out that the skill is probably buggy.

Sometimes explosions with more projectiles do the same damages as with 2 projectiles.

And sometines they do the damages they should do or less maybe ?

I did 20 try for each setup, the maximum factor between max damages and min damages should be 4.33 with the range of my weapon.

But yet i get with 15 projectiles some hit with

15997 damages for an average hit

1869 damages for a very strange and small hit

8.54 factor which seems strange

And it seems to happend once in 2 or 3 hits.

Same thing with 5 projectiles

4982 for a nice hit

643 for a shitty hit

7.7 factor, very strange indeed

And i can't compare them to damages with 2 hits beacuse it would seems even more strange....

So i guess that this skill is very buggy and sometimes it does not achieve to multi hit and only apply the hit of one gas explosion and sometimes it does !

Bump, GGG please fix!! Gas arrow is also bugged!
I woke up yesterday and noticed that my gas grenade damage the skill i only played as main damage and cleared atlas also farming t15 breach, damage is full gone, i cant even kill white mobs t1 map with 5x grenades throw 6 link skill.

So to give more details on this.

I have been testing this a bit more lately.


And it seems the gas grenade isn't bugged but it's the interaction between explosive shot and the gas grenade that is bugged.


And with my results it's very obvious.


With explosive shot i have one again a lot of hits that are way too low to be explained.

While when i use the helmet that ignites ennemies in my presence all damages are in the possible range.


This is a HUGE problem since explosive shot is very nice for an instant damage purpose.

I also suspect all detonators effect to be kinda bugged with gas grenade (explosive grenade seems strange too but i haven't done any testing like i did for explosive shot and gas grenade)

Pls GGG answer this with something i have footage for all my tests if you want to have access to them. This interaction IS BUGGED !
So i have been testing this even more now !

I have fully understood the bug !!!

Detonator skills are bugged with the gas grenade (i tested explosive grenade and explosive shot) !

It's just hard to see for multiple reasons :

- Ignite in this game apply before the explosions of explosive shot and explosive grenade, so when you ignite with your detonator skill, the ignite trigger the explosions of youyr gas grenade and since the gas grenade isn't bugged with ignition from ignite you do all your damages.

- A lot of monsters have attacks that triggers gas grenade explosions so you also do full damages with those.

So i tested damages with detonator skills with elemental focus so that it can't ignite and now the bug is obvious.

With the same setup here are my results with one test being me triggering gas grenade explosions with the explosive grenade and the other one is me triggering gas grenade explosions with the Radiant Greaf helmet that does ignite every monsters next to me so that it's the ignite that triggers gas grenade explosions.

I am doing this on the Titan grotto boss from acte 5, just keep in mind that this guy does trigger explosions with some skills so we have to get rid of those hits for a clear data.

- In the first test all damages are around 6k - 4k, i have tested this with 50+ hits. Sometimes i do a crit which ends up doing 8k - 11k (5% crit chance with 100% crit bonus)

- In the second one all damages are around 12k - 16k, same thing more than 50+ hits tested. Crits deals 24k - 32k.

This is only explainable with a bug on detonator skills.

To reproduce perfect behaviour and clear tests so that you can see that yourself :

- Use explosive grenade as a detonator skill with elemental focus + brutality + chaos infusion so that your explosive grenades damages are as low as possible. Gas grenade can have damage supports gem so that it's even higher compare to explosive grenade. Use Immolate on gas grenade and elemental focus on explosive greande so that you will never ignite the boss with hits.

We have 5 projectiles beacuse of bombard crossbow + node on the tree + scattershot on gas grenade. And only 3 proj on explosive grenade.

Be sure to have a lot of accuracy so that no hit misses your target ! I had a lot during my tests.

Pls be sure to get rid of 2 points on your tree : the 15% chances to explode once again and the 30% increased damage against ignited enemies since thos can change your damages a bit for the second setup.

launch explosive grenades and then gas greandes at the feet of a boss that is big enough so you don't have to worry about hitting with all 5 of your gas clouds (use magnified efficiency if you want).

Explosive grenades will explode and detonate gas clouds and apply damages. You watch your record frame by frame to check excat damages (this is not ideal but it's good enough considering the nerf on damages we are seeing)

Be careful to check if your gas clouds have not been detonated by the boss with some kind of fire / burning skills because thos detonation dot not bugg damage wise.

- Second setup you just equip the radiant grief and you use exactly the same setup for your gas grenade, your clouds wil bee detonated automatically by the ignite of radiant grief.

Damages should 3 times higher on average on the second setup (even more i think)

I have tested this a lot now ...

This is a very problematic bug so pls GGG i need an answer on this.
you realize they have been on their xams/new years break, right? you probably won't get any communication from them about ANY bug until next monday.
