Tukohama's Crusher Mace Skin not working on Sceptres

I've seen many posts saying skins that apply to one handed maces also work on Sceptres, but the Tukohama's Crusher Mace Skin, which I've checked works on both 2h maces and 1h maces in game, says "type mismatch" when trying to apply it to sceptres. Is this a bug/something that will get fixed, or do mace skins not apply to sceptres in PoE2 anymore?
