Pick a lane Devs. What kind of game is this?
The early game is Dark Souls like. Everyone is saying it. It's a cool concept. Act1 is great. A few challenging packs of enemies to tackle. Maps that aren't an entire country large. A cool boss fight that's pretty tough.
Then the game slowly changes. More enemies appear. They are stronger, require more damage, more speed, etc. Then in a6 ... They built poe1 again. So many mobs. So players build screen clearing builds out of necessity. Now they take away those builds. What are we left with? A million mobs we have to kill and an incredibly large map we have to traverse... With no damage. So what happened to dark souls? Why so many mobs? You realize you can just give rare mobs unique move sets outside affixes. Have them drop more loot. It starts with act 3 i.m.o. Traversing those maps feels like visiting my grandma in another city by foot, plus 10 mobs every 3 meters, so it's even slower.
I know making huge maps is cheap when they're randomly generated, but it's also a slog and boring. |
