Soul Tether Belt / Leech interaction not working

I'm playing a Blood Mage and wanted to give the Soul Tether Belt a Try.

It says "Excess Life Recovery from leech is applied to ES" and "You lose 5% of ES per Second".

My Stats: 1.8k Life / 700 ES

If i open the character menu during a fight, i'm not on full HP and cast a spell, it shows how much i am leeching. But if i'm on full Life / overflown life with the belt on, it only very rarely shows leech and fills my ES.

Even with low dmg spells, i should get a small amount of leech shown in the character menu with the belt. But even if use comet (~11k DMG) and am on full overflown life, i almost never get any leech effect and my ES stays at 0.

So either i'm misinterpreting the whole leech / ES / Overflow-mechanic, or the item doesn't work as intended.

i'd like to second this. This either needs some form of clarification or a fix.

While at or below MaxHP, the item works as intended - one can clearly see, that ES is recovered in combat, which cannot originate from recharge.

However, when having overflown life from the Sanguimancy: Life Remnants Orbs, the stated 'Excess life recovery from leech' granted by the Soul Tether belt does not happen.

Same issue here even if I had not identified it with the same precision.

I just clearly noticed my ES staying at a flat 0 even when hitting a full charged bonestorm with life siphon talented (blood mage).

At first I thought about a bad interaction with Zealot's Oath node, but it does not seem to be the source of the problem.

Hope we can get a fix, can't wait to try it out.

Yes, same here, ES leech does not work with soul tether belt at all.

I can also confirm that the unique seems to be broken. Max health or not no amount of leech I do on any enemy gets my shield back. It just never charges again despite me actively healing myself with leech
