Ascendary bug?

After I successfully completed the Trial of Ascendancy in Act 2, I found another coin to attempt the trial again. After i finishing the trial a second time, I had no option to upgrade my Ascendancy. I also didn’t receive any points in the passive skill tree.

Could this be a bug?
