Mana Tempest Mana cost
|
Bug Report ID: #2461521555
Its working in every area i can use skills. e I use "Mana Tempest" which has 24 mana cost if i do nothing else. But after using any skill (with mana costs) for example spark just one time, the Mana Tempest Mana cost increases every second more and more, so its adding it own mana consumption to its mana cost (increasing exponentially so no one can ever sustain it. I reach mana cost up to 1.6k per second, then my mana goes empty.) That doesnt look as intended. Last bumped on Feb 20, 2026, 12:12:05 PM

I noticed this as well. It should not ramp after a single cast.

To add onto this, attacks also seems to increase the tempest cost, even though it states spells in the wording
|
|
" The skill states "mana spent" it doesn't specify spell or attack. Spending mana on an attack would increase the cost to maintain the storm +1 to OP though. It seems the mana tempest is compounding the mana cost continuously as soon as mana is spent inside of it. |

It states spell in the text above "Maintaining the storm constantly drains your Mana, and each Spell you cast causes it to drain faster"
|
|
" Yes, the initial 1% of your mana cost. Not .3%^duration on top of 30% of any mana you spend. IT also didn't work this way before, it's a recent change. It's not sustainable and now currently useless. |

To add more info on this, the bug seems to happen when mana tempest cost goes above 30~35 mana. I just tested, I'm low level, I cast it, it costs 4.50 mana per second, i wait around it wont increase. I cast something, goes to 11 mana per second, still wont start increasing by second. It only starts ramping up after I get the mana cost per second above 30 or more.

Noticed that aswell. In my case it looks like this: I place mana tempest -> mana cost on tooltip is ok. I cast one ability with 42 mana cost -> manacost rises once and stays stable. I cast same ability once more -> mana tempest cost starts to ramp up

I did some testing regarding this spell.
Just casting "Mana Tempest" and standing in it drains 6.67 mana per second from me, in the initial second. But it immidietly starts going up the second after and around 18 seconds in the cost matches my mana regeneration (136.1 mps). This is when I connect an "Efficiency II" gem to "Mana Tempest" and just stand in it without using any other spells or skills. With the previous mentioned specifics, my mana pool is drained in about 22.34-23.07 seconds when I do absolutely nothing (Though "Arcane Surge" triggers around the 18 second mark since it's tied to "Mana Tempest", boosting my regeneration to 163.4). When I use a mana flask to try and offset the drain, I still reach 0 after 25.5-25.7 seconds, and this is despite it generating 465 mana over 3 seconds (155 mps). And that is triggering it 3 times between second 18 and reaching 0-mana. I'm not entirely sure if it's intended that it should create a feedback loop, where the drain goes up even when no mana or life consuming actions are performed. It seems like a way to punish group play, where the sorceress may be setting up for battle waiting for a melee character to pull in a pack of monsters to be "wiped out". |
