"This support cannot be socketed into this skill" for every support gem.
Appropriate supports can still be socketed into the skill, but the window to create a support off a skill has every support disabled with this generic error.
![]() See image, trying to engrave Last Gasp for Skeletal Cleric (which is supported), but is not allowed through this window. Creating the support separately and socketing it manually still works. Last bumped on Feb 20, 2025, 2:55:01 PM

Same but only with some of the skills. Spark and Orb of Storms are ok, Archmage and Conductivity are not.
PS - you can go create a support gem and insert it. It is just that system is not allowing to do this easy way. Last edited by fireismylife#2041 on Dec 20, 2024, 7:58:16 PM

I've had this issue as well, in two different ways. I've found out how to fix both of em.
Reduced Attribute Requirements I have a bone wand with 15% reduced attribute requirements on it, bringing its Int requirement down from 95 to 80. I have 93 Int, and that allows me to use it. In the gem menu though, it says that the Bone Blast I get from it requires 95 Int, and it doesn't let me slot in gems. Refunding a passive to give me 98 Int lets me slot in gems in the Bone Blast. Bone Wand in question: ![]() Can't slot in the gem due to missed requirement, I'm guessing. ![]() But once I change my passives to get 98 Int instead of 93, it's happy to have the gem. ![]() Mystery 3 Slot Thing I found an issue before the previous one, where it would not let me engrave new gems, but it would let me slot them in. I don't know what causes this, but I found a way to stop it in my specific situation? It's weird. If I have a primary (specifically has to be first slot) weapon equipped with 3 gem slots, and I have ONLY the first two slots filled, it stops gem engraving from wanting to make any new gems for any other skill, except ones with 3 gem slots. So in this exact situation, I can't create any new gems: ![]() ![]() Other three slot skills aren't affected by it: ![]() But this works fine: ![]() ![]() Filling all three gem spots also works. The only configuration that gives problems is having only the first two slots filled. Having a two gem-slot weapon in the primary equipment-slot, and holding the three gem weapon in the secondary slot also works. My best guess is that it somehow tells the other gems that only the 3rd slot is free? That data somehow leaks out of there? I don't know. But at least I can play around it now. I don't know if this has similar problems with 4 slot weapons, I haven't gotten that far yet. TLDR: Careful with weapons with reduced attribute requirements, and careful with primary weapons with more slots than your skills. Either completely fill with gems, or a different pattern, just not the first few. Last edited by MidnightFrost#4012 on Dec 22, 2024, 5:29:36 AM

Thank you so much this for the fixes this was me to a T. Mine was the 3 socket issue on the weapon.
Also side note if you cant fix it you can still click all gems button at the bottom right and manually buy the gems you want, you just have to make sure you get gems that will work on your skill. |
