Feedback on Audio Cues for Unique Drops and High-Value Currency in PoE 2
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the audio design for unique item drops and valuable currency in Path of Exile 2. While the game looks stunning and many of the sound effects are crisp and impactful, I feel that the audio cues for unique items and high-tier currency are a bit underwhelming compared to the original PoE.
In Path of Exile 1, the distinct "clang" or "chime" sound of a unique dropping was instantly recognizable and created a rush of excitement. The same could be said for high-value currency like Exalted Orbs or Divine Orbs — that satisfying sound was a core part of the dopamine hit. However, in PoE 2, the audio cues for these drops feel muted, less distinct, and lack the sense of urgency or reward. Suggestions for Improvement: Make the Sounds More Distinct: Bring back the sharper, more iconic chime from PoE 1 or create a new, more powerful version that cuts through ambient noise. Add Customization Options: It would be great if we could customize or adjust the sound levels for item drops. This could be a setting in the audio options for people who want a more intense experience. Increase Audio Clarity: If the intention is to make the game feel more "grounded" and "realistic," I understand, but these sounds should still stand out from regular loot drops. I’d love to hear if others feel the same way or if I’m just being too nostalgic for the old sounds. Have you noticed this too? Do you think the iconic "drop hype" is missing, or do you prefer the new approach? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Last bumped on Dec 27, 2024, 6:08:31 AM

" This is 100% needed. I want to use the default drop sounds instead of something like Neversinks but the fact that drop sounds are bundled with regular sound effects isn't it. Last edited by Syncfx#4604 on Dec 16, 2024, 9:20:54 PM
