Quitting the game after getting to level 72
As a Ranger, I would have liked to play longer however after being progressed blocked because I had failed 7 trials I could not ascend. The longest rooms were the mazes and the other rooms were completed in under 2 or 3 minutes which the game decided to put me in 5 mazes in a row and eventually succumbed to the flames, bombs or slowly ticking my honor away that left me with no health to play with the next stage.
Chaos of trial I just had to stack resistance and do enough damage, and choose the debuffs that closely related to lowering my stats or making the monsters stronger. The debuffs that were homing missles attacking the character made the game unwinnable because it slowed the gameplay down and in a situations where I was overwhelmed I could not attack because I lacked the movement speed buff and eventually just got stuck and died to the missles while being surrounded and loss of frame rates as everything is just exploding on my screen, spawning through mists, colorful auras, missles flying and animations, etc. With that being said as a gamer and new PoE2 player, trials are a familiarity and a test of game knowledge. Each time it became easier however that does not take away from the randomness that occurs. I just want to progress and with each death I think I lost EXP or just was stagnant from trying to become familiar with the trials with a limited amount of tokens and I could only farm lower level mobs which made the exp gain minimal and a huge loss on death. Countless times I died to the maze and not the action rpg i was there for to progress, get more loot and continue my forward momentum. I am fine with dying to hordes of monsters or offscreen to a giant laser beam, constant strikes of lightening, small projectiles from darts but I am not okay with dying to traps from fireballs, bombs on the ground that deals massive damage even though I had a high resistance to fire and had relics that increased my overall honor. The game movement mechanics are just not smooth enough for the tight window I am expected to maneuver consistently, and the mazes are uninteresting having to go through the flames of wheel repeatedly which if you make a mistake it can sometimes take a little damage or take off a large amount from how narrow the traps are. If I dont have anymore tokens I then have to spend hours grinding for more which does not give me very much experience either for my level. I am not a hardcore gamer as I once was. At level 71 I spent 15 hours and I was only able to level up once I and do not plan to repeat that process. During that time I used up all of my enchanting and familiarized myself with making my equipment suitable for my build which was high physical damage, critical hits, armor break, and high elemental resistance. My gameplay consisted of armor breaking with my basic with a focus on high physical damage/critical damage, pin as crowd control/stacks to barrage. Rain of arrows for choke points as I kited, on myself to prevent being surrounded which also has dazed built up for larger units or bosses while still being able to be mobile to dodge projectiles or launch a big snipe from a safe position. Snipe which took down most monsters in one hit which paired well with barrage, and the ability that makes me shoot 25 arrows which I paired with ricochet to take out the hordes of smaller monsters or maim them and enhanced with barrage that I learned from trial and error. On the flipside the game as a new player was easy to learn, the story was easy to follow, and the customization was extremely well designed because it was simple and I could chart my character to be able to heavily focus on one specialization. The boss fights were fun and added another layer of difficulty because I had to dodge abilities, and learn attack patterns. Overall this is my personal feedback, I am someone who comes from diablo 2, Warcraft, and Starcraft era to League of Legends, building character stats, matching up abilities to be able to get the max output and strategies is what I like to do. Trials were my last straw and I will not be playing anymore due to frustration, effort/time is not worth the progression as I am taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I have not came back to ARPGs after Diablo 3 so this was a game that I enjoyed playing just not something I will be continuing to play anymore because of trials. you only failed 7 and quit? smells like weaksauce up in here. if you are dying to traps, thats an individual skill issue. it's not GGG's fault that you can't seem to get past a telegraphed mechanic.

but failed 7 times labs in POE2 its really hight cause the farmin of the token no ?
They forced us to farm a lot of hours for one try a RNG trial which is fking bad and unbalanced. |

" I received those 7 tokens overtime, and they are limited to how many times you can try them based on how many you need so my skill issues is capped behind farming more of those tokens which are very scarce. I'm not sure if you are confusing the unlimited token that you get from the quest in normal difficulty. If there is somewhere where I can get an unlimited amount of tokens to try them then please enlighten me because I grind hours for one token. The first floor completion i can pass, beyond that it becomes more frustrating because you have to start from the first floor again while managing your boons, debuffs and honor. Those traps are telegraphed but they are not that slow that you have a large window of time to maneuver within them especially the lava ones where they form what seems like a cage like fence that you have to narrowly maneuver. These mazes are just uninteresting and punishes your honor too severely because it also has a burn tick that if you have the affliction that eats up a percentage of your health for each hit or lose 20 sacred water for every hit you basically lose it all. Also this is my personal feedback that I am kindly leaving to GGG as a gamer in which I noted the kind of games I've played and the kind of character I created without any guides to show that I have some level of understanding how to play these games and make it to level 72. I also said I was a new player to PoE2 and the last ARPG I played was diablo 3 and am not a hard-core gamer anymore. Which translates to I do not invest much time into video games anymore and would rather play casually. However, this week I wanted to put in an enormous amount of my time to enjoy the experience I did not get in diablo 3 years ago and get back to my regular life. |
