Pc crashes / freezes on loading new zones in poe2
Hello! I am using the latest version of w11 24h2.
I have a issue with poe2, where there is 1/4 times when I load into a new zone, my pc just freezes 100% and needs a restart, anyone know why? - I have tried to change from directx12 to 11, and vulkan. - I tried to delete shader cache in appdata - I tried to limit cpu usage for poe2 (Read somewhere that w11 24h2 bricks some amd cpus) I have no clue what to do. I cant roll back to 23h2, since I have no ISO files for that, and its been too long since I upgraded to 24h2. Any suggestions would be amazing Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 3:51:11 PM

They're saying it's mostly an AMD issue but I have seen a post with Intel CPU doing the same thing. Some posts I have seen mention disabling Enginge multithreading as a solution, but that tanks your FPS.
I'm out of ideas myself. Messaged mod since I don't see it in "known issues" |

Yeah I tried playing without multi threading, and that is just cancer for eyes

My workaround for now has been to disable Engine Multithreading anytime I portal. Seems to work, especially for mapping. Then once you're loaded into the map/zone, re-enable it. Extra clicks but works.

I’m monitoring my machine’s temps and utilization.
Here’s the deal: when loading, CPU usage spikes hard. Really hard. Temps momentarily spike towards 90C, and trigger a shutdown of the system. During the most intense gameplay, I never see my CPU utilization even break 30% with my hardware, and CPU temps are reliably under 70C. Seems like setting an aggressive frame limit may help — 60FPS — and disabling engine multi threading prior to loading does work to prevent this. It makes me wish there was a “disable engine multithreading while loading” configuration. Last edited by hesham8#4339 on Dec 15, 2024, 2:47:04 PM

Same Problem after updating today to Windows 11 24h2. The Game freezes in Loading Screen and complete freezes my PC. I rly hope this causes no damage to my System.

Try to disable multithreading in settings before loading in to any zone and enable after loading, it might work.
