Can I boost my bros character?

Let's say I'm level 70, he's level 40 can he be in the party and I run the maps with him as my level and he still gets full xp? I don't mind not getting any if that means not downscaling my character. Thanks

two choices here:
- Downscale enabled: you both get full XP, but your character is nerfed.
- Downscale disabled: he gets a fraction of the XP but your character stays the same.

There is no boosting. It's not possible.

If a character is a higher level than the zone, they get an xp penalty.
This penalty still happens if they are being downscaled to a party member.
You'll earn no xp while going back to play with a friend who'd behind you.

If a character is lower leveled than their party members, and downscaling is turned off, they get an xp penalty for being carried.

Yes, I meant that exactly. Being under-leveled begets an xp penalty the same as being over-leveled.
If you speed through to higher level areas, whether by being carried or doing it yourself, once the areas out-level you you'll stop earning xp and have to go back to areas you've already beaten to level up.
