Do resistance penetration apply to minions?

I'm running a Infernalist with Raging Spirits/Arsonists and invested a bunch of points in fire resistance penetration and I'm wondering if its pointless for this build.

It depends on what exactly you mean.

If you are using a support gem like "Fire Penetration", this will effect the minions damage.

If you are talking about the passive tree, about nodes that state "... penetrate X % ...". These will not effect your minions. Same for stats on your items unless they specifically state minions.

As a general rule of thumb, if it does not say minion, it does not effect your minions.

Some exceptions are linking support gems or effects on the enemy. Like when you curse them with Flammability. The enemy is directly effected and the minions indirectly.

Yeah I meant passive nodes. Guess I have like 8 free points to respec now.

TY very much.
Sorry I forgot one. Allies. Minions count as Allies. Like stated on Sceptres for example. "Allies in your Presence ...", this effects minions.
I understand how allies and minions usually work, but this needs clarification. It says “Damage penetrates 6% fire resistance”, not “your damage penetrates”. As written, it reads like a generic modifier, implying that any damage benefits from it, including minions. If it explicitly said “your damage”, there would be no ambiguity
