[POE2] Cannot complete Act 1.

I'm in act 3 - so obviously I got the cut scene from the hooded guy in act 1, but it says that the Travel East quest is still not completed.

I don't know what to do. I hear I won't be able to do maps since the campaign isn't finished but I DID finish act 1, and don't want to make a new character. But I dont want to play this one either since I may be wasting my time if the bug isn't fixed. I feel stuck and disheartened.

a mate of mine and I are affected by the same bug.
In my case even with two characters.
I've already tried every solution you can find on the internet, unfortunately without success.

Any ideas?

I an in the same boat with my Totem warrior although I am in act 3 with my sorcerer. It tells me to travel East after killing the count but it will not allow me to.
