Jamara, the Abomination

Is anybody else finding this fight absolutely ridiculous? I mean yea the challenge in the game and bosses has been trying at times but this is something else on a different scale. It’s actually making the game more annoying then an interesting challenge.

It totally depends on RNG drops to help you beat bosses or have 1 of the few viable builds they will nuke into the ground. This is just bad game design.

I've beat him after MANY attempts...got blues and flask. The boss fights in this game are the most unrewarding and unfulfilling in any game I have ever played. This game is not fun, it's a tedious chore where I spend more time rolling around than anything. Roll 3 times, shoot and repeat for 30 minutes. That's every boss fight. This game is a rolling sim. ITS NOTHING LIKE DARK SOULS!
I don't know. At first (Act 1, and early Act 2), fights were kind of challenging for me. It's either super easy or very hard depending on your build and gear. I died once to that Jamara boss fight as I didn't protect myself against the storm and died to sustained damage and trash adds, but other than that, it was allright. I like challenging fights, especially if it doesn't take 1 hour to try it again (looking at you Trials).

So yeah, back to builds : For martial weapons users, it's possible to be completely obliterating current content if you have superb rolls on your weapons. For spellcasters/minion builds, I guess that there are some spells/minions that are so strong that if you find a +3 or +4 spell levels on your weapon, it invalidates most bosses without even trying to get a new weapon.

Thing is, the game really doesn’t help/guide players craft said loot, and some of the recommended gems supports for a given skill are just plain BAD while there are better choices. Some people also always get crappy loot and their crafted gear is as crappy. RNG after RNG. It creates a huge disparity in how difficult the game will feel, and it's not always down to skill level. It's early access though, and they'll probably add QoL changes in the future.

For example, I created a Ranger first. Pathfinder, poison build, so it was kind of slow and steady and required very good weapons, 4 ascendancy points and rank 3 support gems to really shine. The game felt moderately difficult up until Cruel. I completed most bosses fights without dying, but most of these were a close call. It's quite strong now in the endgame, but while leveling, it felt a bit like a slow, kite and run gameplay style.

Then I decided to play an Infernalist minion build because I wanted a change of pace. I didn't know it was one of the most used class, but now I see why. It's easy mode since I got Summon Raging Spirit. At lvl 60, it's easy mode against every single boss, even with an old lvl 20-ish scepter. Even with self found gear, it's easy as spells/minions are tied to gem levels, and it's easier to get a good scepter/staff with +2/+4 minions/spells compared to a good martial weapon. Sure, I know the fights now and I have a better understanding of the game, but some skills make your playthrough way easier.

It's not a hard game, it's only poorly tuned towards martial weapon users who need a big OP weapon to roll over everything.

I got a +90% phys dmg xbow drop just in time for this boss.

If I didn't get that, probably would have taken forever O.o
That boss was a pain in the ass I probably had 10 attempts or so and was 4-5 levels above him. I'm running 2h mace on a warrior with a build I set up myself so probably went wrong in many ways lol.

Buy at least blue rings and an amulet with lightning resist so that you max your lightning resist to 75%. After that the fight is a joke compared to having bad lightning resistance.
You can even face tank her sword hit afterwards.
Good luck!
