Act 3 Temple of Chaos - Lost Temple Offering

I don't know if this be the best forum to raise this issue but it left me irate and looking for justice.

The context: I've just procured myself a brand new, shiny offering to unlock another Temple of Chaos run for the loot. But yours truly has butter fingers and clicked too much and too often until my life had become agony and strife.

When I placed the item onto the Temple Altar, I clicked what I thought was "Open [the door]" but the door was already open, so then I clicked "Close", then "Open" again and so on. It was a blur and a flurry of clicks that had me thinking "what I am doing and why is this happening to me?" but next thing I knew, the item had been used but the Trial remained closed, with the instance open right behind it, poking fun at my folly. I cannot open the door again as it is asking me to place an offering at the Altar which I do not have.

Surely this was not the intended design? While I know that time heals all wounds, I hope no one has to go through the pain of losing out on the Temple of Chaos by clicking too much.
