Endgame atlas progression and league mechanics? Am I just unlucky?

Level 92, been playing at least 6 hours every day since launch and I have not found a single citidel, let alone the monolith or whatever. I've had a single logbook drop, and I just now finally picked up 300 breach shards, done ritual more than any other mechanic and haven't seen the boss key in the rewards.

I just feel like im mapping and that is it, not really making any progress towards endgame bosses except ultimatum and sanctum which aren't really even part of the atlas like breach, expedition etc.

Is this just terrible luck? Does GGG intend for these systems to be something that only no lifers like me can even dream of having access to? Why does it seem like its also all behind getting to t15 maps first, and everything you do before then is basically inconsequential?

I understand that I can buy breachstones, logbooks etc. to get the atlas points to speed up the process, but how are new players or casual players going to react to that being the case, that you just have to buy these things because they aren't going to drop otherwise, and if you want to do something besides maps thats just how it is?

I feel like tonight again, ill map for 6 hours, I wont find a citadel, I wont find a ritual boss, and I'll pick up like 100 breach shards. Im at the point where I am pretty sure I've powercrept the +0 encounters for these bosses so much that I can just stand afk and kill them in 20 seconds or less besides the pinnacle boss maybe.

I want to interact with these systems, do something besides blasting maps, but it just feels impossible or I have to buy the league specific things to progress, and still can't buy a citidel spawn on my atlas.

bump
I found out why I haven't fought the king in the mists yet, the key is going for 6 div lol

Must be incredibly rare
Anyways it seems that just mapping is not going to generate you any kind of real currency, maybe half a div an hour at best, even running double corrupt t15 maps.

In order to generate actual currency you have to interact with trials/ultimatum, breach/ritual/delerium/expedition

The first 2 are easy enough to access, but most people absolutely hate these, I don't mind ultimatum personally.

The last 4 require insane time/currency investment to get the ball rolling because so much power in these systems is tied to killing the bosses, which the keys to open except expedition are pretty goddamn expensive, and newer players are probably going to feel like they might as well sell the key and generate more currency in that 1 transaction then they did in the last 50 hours.

To get the most out of ritual for instance you'll have to forgo 6 div 3 times to open the boss, and hopefully not fail if you have a bad build which most casual players probably do in order to get the atlas passives.

From what im seeing, running maps with and without focusing on the content, and having 6 or points in it is like a minimum a 3-4x increase in currency per hour, for ritual its just disgusting how much you could make with points in that tree.

Same... not a single citadel... everything is way to scarse.. too little nodes on ritual or anything.. bare bone rewards.
I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
You arent going to get any kind of rewards until you put around 6 points into a mechanic tree and focus on that.

People are making like 4-8 div an hour running maps with ritual nodes, omens and invitation sell for a shitload, and compared to a naked tree they can reroll their ritaul an additional time, 50% increased chance for omens and invitation on top of that + other benefits like more points to spend from monster generation and gaurenteed 4 rituals per map etc.

Ritual is an outlier in terms of being so good, but its pretty much the same case to a lesser degree for the other past league mechanics.

Bossing will generate you waystones, I get like 5-8 t15's per boss node, but these maps are terrible for rewards, the bosses dont drop anything even with 10/12 points in the boss tree.

And im running maps like these

That 1 mod compeltely disables your es/life regen even from flasks, i had to leave twice to fill up my shield.

just picking up 2-4 exalts, iding a bunch of trash rares, and then praying to god all the rituals I spawned with towers will have an invitation, so far 14 ritual maps tonight nothing. Honestly I feel like i've lost currency tonight running maps buying vaal orbs to corrupt my maps with the ex I get and gambling a few ex on some rares that could be worth something if hit a mod.

Are you using rarity gear or normal? Just curious, because if you with rarity then i have no idea how people have hundreds of divines... everything now sells for divines, not for exalts.. even crappy item being sold for divines.
I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
I have like 30% increased rarity, quant is much better, but in general MF gear isn't going to do much.

There just isnt any items worth anything in maps except good rares you might find, or lvl 20 skill gems from lvl 82 zones which requires a corrupted and irridated boss node w/ a corrupted t15 map that turns into a t16. Ive done 3 today and none droped anything worth more than an exalt.

like I said, if you want to start making money, you have to get points into these atlas trees, which is a massive RNG/grind or prohibitly expensive to buy the items to get the points.

That or you run ultimatum/trials 24/7 like a pyscho. Trial master runs are decent currency. Ultimatum im not sure, but im sure its better than mapping at any level.
