How does armour work exactly? Including negative armour and interaction with bleed

What's the formula for armour damage reduction? Does breaking armour affect small hits more than big hits? How much so?

How does negative armour work? How does armour interact with bleed?

While the details will have changed, I recommend going to poewiki and checking there.
But yes, small hits suffer from armour more, so armour breaking would logically also benefit small hits more.
Armour does not affect bleeding, but a bleed you inflict at that moment is based on the damage you do.

Isn't a "no" better than an ignore?
So technically a Warbringer gunning down a boss with Armour Piecing Rounds will deal increasingly more damage?
Yes, your damage will rise as its armour goes down.
Any bleeds you inflict when it's armour is broken should be noticably stronger than before you start.
Not sure how challenging it is to test.

Certainly is the case with poison, the healthbar goes down noticably faster when armor is broken so im assuming it will be the same for bleed.

That's not the way it should work. Bleeding/poison/ignite damage is based on the pre-mitigated damage of the inflicting hit. That means armour and other defensive stuff don't affect the base magnitude of damaging ailments.

But unlike armour which only protects against hits, most defences will kick in later when the target mitigates receiving damage.

Thats contrary to what I can observe in-game and also contrary to what ive read in the according descriptions in-game.

Poison is the result of physical conversion (physical impact mitigated by armor) to chaos (poison) once afflicted.
