PoE 2 and External Drives

I was just wondering if anyone else had a hard time with lag when using an external SSD (Toshiba) . I am using a ASUS gaming laptop with 3050ti. I have played other games using the drive but PoE 2 was almost unplayable.
I finally moved the install to my local drive and the issue appears to be resolved. Thanks for any feedback
