Trials

The trials are sucking the fun out of the game. If this were optional content, it still wouldn't inspire feelings of joy and excitement for the game. However, it's even worse when advancement is gated behind RNG shenanigans and content that designed to, inspire, what, rage-quitting? There's a difference between challenging and absurdity...

Add to this the fact that the modifiers are literally designed to completely negate various play styes, character choices, etc... It no longer becomes a play your way type of game but forces you to play whatever build isn't as affected by the nonsense that you've thrown at them.

Please reconsider your implementation of these trials...

+1, Beingh forced to play meta just for trials of chaos and then respec afterwards is silly. Perhaps offer free respeccing for trial of chaos if we are supposed to only play meta to beat Trial of Chaos
Trial of Chaos on act 3 is major pain for melee, even more so than trial of Sekhemas in act 2 in my opinion. It is quite frankly pushing me to just follow the example of PoE 2 dev team and tune out for holidays or until its balance gets tuned down. The modifiers for it are way too punishing for act 3. Most people still have not gotten gear with high enough modifiers to warrant -15% all resistances and -10% max res debuff for example. Rotating laser with stacking DoT and/or any kind of movement hinderance is just instant fail to any melee that does not one shot everything. Chimera shouldn't be in an arena with tight corridors, it prevents melee from moving to bosses sides etc.
100% agree with this. At first I loved the idea. Eventually I realized only meta builds would do any good here. Oh, and that ultimatum trial with the chimera thing that will just run away every 3 seconds? Total BS. It took me like 15 minutes to get through that fight because the monster just refused to sit still, like, AT ALL. All the while I have to position correctly, dodge one shots and a whole bunch of BS.
Ready to quit until this gets fixed; this has nothing to do with being challenging its just annoying and random as to whether or not you gets rares with %^#$ affixes that fire off random aoes or things with no telegraph.
most of the chaos mods are insta-loss mods. And this is on their tier 1 version. They almost all have an even rippier tier 2.

And why is less range and aoe on the same random mod in trials? Why isn't it split up? Because literally every build in the game relies on range or aoe and is bricked by losing half of it
Ascendancy should come by other means. Sanctum (which I hated until I beat it) is great as an optional mechanic and a loot source. But it an exercise in frustration when made mandatory because it is designed that you will fail multiple times while farming Relics to enable your later runs.

+1 and honestly the fact it's in such a bad place is starting to make me regret buying a second pass for my friend and MTX. I know its alpha but how did they all agree up this being a good idea?
