PoE2 - Mana Leech aura is too much
Hello,
I would like you to considerably nerf the mana leech aura of rares and bosses. I am all up for a challenge, but this modifier absolutely bricks casters sometimes. If a rare or boss is fast enough to just jump on me or run me down I cannot do anything as a caster. My 2.5k mana pool is gone in 1.5seconds and then I can only watch him kill me. On rares it is annoying, but manageable. I have however just now found a boss in T15 map (the big bell owl boss, whatever he is called) with this aura and I dare any caster to go into that last small pit with him and survive.... that is completely impossible. Please nerf this aura, it is far too punishing for casters and there is nothing to be done if the monster is fast and/or not CCable. On bosses this is absolutely ridiculous. Suggestion - make the mana leech scale with monsters mobility. If it is fast and/or can gap close quickly, the leech should be highly diminished. I am all up for keeping high leech on medium/slow mobs to punish carelessness. Last edited by Balypls#2056 on Dec 19, 2024, 12:20:49 PM Last bumped on Jan 22, 2025, 1:28:28 AM

100% agree, it's just impossible to fight this mechanic as a caster, if the monster has any modifier that makes them unstoppable, you just accept your death and go next run.

Agreed, 100%! You basically made an enemy that can nearly completely cancel out entire classes. As far as I can tell, the only casters that can counter this are witch infernalists that switch their mana for infernal flame. Using that ascendancy node has its own major drawback too and takes a lot of careful build crafting to mitigate.
I'd love to hear if anyone else has found a better way to deal with these nuisance bosses. Is there enough mana regen increases on the tree to maybe slow down their leech? My only method at the moment is run like hell, guzzle life flasks and find some terrain breaks big enough to keep between us. Rarely works though. |

Bosses with manaring is your own decision to pick that specific node on the atlas tree.
And generally with fast mobs with manaring you're supposed to stand inside the ring (melee range). |
