Trail of Terrible Brain Design

I mean Sekhemas just killed me on the last room before final boss because I assume the affliction it gave me was "you have no energy shield"? I really dont understand how claiming a reward altar can just straight kill you that seems unintended but then again the trail system seems unintended to me so I guess I could be wrong. Find it hard to believe I am the first one to have this happen to them. Where are all the hardcore guys.
