Merc - Do Crossbow Shot support gems stack on top of ammo support gems?

I've not assigned any support gems to Crossbow Shot. If I were to do so, would those support gems stack on top of any ammo type I fire out of the crossbow, or are they just ignored unless I'm using the Basic Bolt?

I only have one anecdotal piece of evidence to it: I got to Rudja in act 2 cruel, and I had him down to about 50% health and got one shotted. I threw some red damage supports on the Crossbow Shot and tried again, and it seemed like I melted him much faster.

It should be pretty easy to test, use a multiproj support on crossbow bolt and fire a single proj ammo type and see if it gets extra proj/slower attack?

I feel like the answer can only be no, because if it is yes and nobody knew it that would be utterly insane.

Edit: Yep, the answer is no. Scattershot support on crossbow shot decreases crossbow shot attack speed when basic bolts are loaded, but not fragmentation/permafrost/etc shot when those are loaded (.74s vs .58s)

Tried it, I think the answer is the less cool option. It doesn't stack.

Crossbow Shot doesn't exist as a skill, what's in your list is Basic Bolt.
