Not able to go to the present or endgame

I've done the campaign and accesed endgame, but due to a lot of desync, I decided to take a break from the game.

After comming back and fixing the desync, I cannot go to endgame(found out this is because I'm missing a trial of chaos)

But I still don't understand why after I've killed the last boss etc now the portal to the present is closed (as it's completely gone, no animation, nothing)

So now I'm stuck in the past :/
