15k+ hours POE 1 - "short" POE 2 feedback - MIDGAME terrible !
Yes, a lot of hours in POE 1, but I am still a casual that plays the game in the evening after work and on weekends. I am not fast, not skilled and have not much knowledge for the hours invested, but I still have a strong opinion about POE 2 after about 2 weeks and more then 100 hours.
Campaign I started slow, wanted to enjoy it and killed like every mob possible :-) I love it, the campaign is awesome, not to hard and with the changes the last 2 weeks (not that much running anymore) I think its in a great state for the moment. Mid-Game Thats where I am since app. a week, yes slow, I know. And here is where the problems are IMHO, because some of my friends are rushing T15s+ have all things specced they want in the Atlas Tree and having fun allready in the endgame (no lifers with group play), so I know because of them, and because of looking a lot of streamers its fine after you reached that point, but ........... I invested app. a week to play up to red maps, AND I am STILL NOT ALLOWED to specc into MECHANICS I LIKE ?? I have to kill special bosses after getting the pieces to put points into MECHANICS of the game - realy ? POE 2 doesnt allow me to specc into BREACH, DELIRIUM, RITUAL, etc, etc, even after more then 100 maps played - rly ? As a long time POE 1 player, thats terrible game design, because I want to specc into the things my char is able to handle and I like from the beginning of my "End Game Journey". The Atlas Tree points and progression when completing maps is there to let me do the things I love most. Not only does POE 2 "hide" things I love to do behind "TABLETS" in need to get for towers, but even more you dont let me spend my hard earned points into these mechanics. IMHO, this MID-GAME progression feels terrible, because you are not able to spec into the things you like/can do. SOLUTION EXAMPLE Give us the first 2 points for the special mechanic after we did them 10 times in a white map, then 2 more points after we did them 10 times in yellow maps, and 2 more after 10 times in red maps, and last but not least the points 7+8 are give after defeating the boss for the mechanic. Thats all I want, give us fun and possibilities before we are OP and cruising threw T15+ maps. For me ATM thats the only thing that wants me to quit each eveining. If I am alone with my opionion, I will accept that off course, but I hope somebody else is feeling a little bit like me, too. Thanks for reading, cu ................. I agree with your sentiment, but not the solution.
I like the way the map boss tree points are gained, they need to find a way to replicate that (at least for the first couple points) on the other trees as well. Maybe the first 2 after doing it X times, but something else after that. Bosses can be the 2nd half of the points. |

This is what I like about scarabs and what not. You can force mechanics you want at any time. I dont have to do some silly RNG look for a node delve-like mechanic thing.

PoE2 lets you customize your end game experience after you are done grinding end game.

" Yep, thats what I mean, but thats bad game designe. Let me have fun while I am progressing from T1 to T15 maps. Thats what I am missing ATM.
