GGG, I've given up on Crafting because of:
I'm afraid I've given up on crafting.
At first I was excited, especially since GGG made it clear they were going to make orbs more available. What I feel now is frustration, disillusion and boredom. -- I have an entire stash tab of magic items just waiting to role a third affix. Sadly, the lack of Regals and Alchemies makes going thru these items very difficult. At this point, I've run out of Augments, and am giving up, since the gold is worth more to me at this point. -- For reference, I'm a level 51 Warrior in Cruel. I understand that further along the game, the situation MIGHT improve, but my current experience counts. It absolutely counts, since players who take their time and play thru the campaign slowly (because they have lives that take up 80% of their day...) are numerous, and may even be the majority of the player base. My solution to this issue is to probably increase orb drops. I don't see this as harming the difficulty or enjoyment of the game, as crafting should honestly be part of progression and the enjoyment, and it currently isn't. I'd love to hear the communities' take and their experiences regarding this issue. its funny because i have over 200 regals and im constantly regaling maps and bows in general.
Maybe you just dont farm enough i guess. |

Don't take this as gospel, but from the sound of it I think you might be casting too wide of a net in terms of items to upgrade.
I ran into the same issue you had to start with (especially since that was before the early loot buffs), and as soon as I switched to a more selective choice of items (basically unless it was already almost as good as my current gear before I touched it, I didn't craft on it), I found things went a lot smoother. Yes, I was still using 3-4 items from normal difficulty when I first hit maps, but it didn't impact my progress too much. That said - I've seen other suggest crafting items that only work on lower level items which are more common, and I think that could be workable (would probably have to limit these to exclude higher tier mods, so the real exacts etc you find in campaign still have value). |

i have to agree with this post as much as i actually like the simplicity of crafting now? the drop rates arent great in campaign SUCK took me till act 3 to even drop 1 chaos so i was like " oh imma use this to reroll a quiver" WELL lo and behold it didnt reroll aa danmed thing! it erased one of the elemental mods woohoo i said sarcastically looking at this quiver thats now just as usefull as a screen door on a submarine thats gonna more than likely sit in my stash awaiting a way to craft it (more than likely by the time i actually get to maps and by then it would be more useless) the fact that you cant scour a item till endgame is not only frustrating? but redundant as hell my theroy? heres what would help a little
1. BRING BACK ALTS 2. BRING BAACK SCOUR ORBS or make a way to scour items in campaign |
