Keyboard keys stop functioning during gameplay

I have a problem triggered by fighting Balalba my "d" key stops working... it takes several reboots and other methods to get it back. Even now it has problems registering the 'd' key. I have to press other keys together with it to get it temporarily working (like 'ed' or 'sd', etc...)

(edit: i'm also a steam user so that may be a factor?)

i'm on a new Lenovo legion slim 5 laptop
AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS w/ Radeon 760M Graphics 4.30 GHz
GEFORCE RTX 4060 Graphics Card
32 GB Ram
Windows 11

This only happened after the cruel balalba fight. I've tried many things to isolate it and the only trigger is POE2 unfortunately.

kinda puts my play through at an end at this time :(

Did you try with an external keyboard attached?
