Suddenly PoE 2 broke my SSD
The game was working completely fine for a week without changing anything and then now suddenly since yesterday the game has started using 100% of my SSD during gameplay. When it tries to retrieve files from the SSD the load spikes to 100% many times causing horrible lag and sometimes even crashes. The SSD itself works with other games, crystal disk mark said it was doing fine and there is enough space on it.
I had not touched anything before these problems started and so far I have changed the power settings, changed the virtual memory on the drive, changed ingame settings and disabled windows search in the hopes those would help since that was all the information I could find online regarding it but none of them have worked so far. I have 16gb of RAM and 5700XT and AMD Ryzen 5 3600, but I am very much sure it is a disk problem since I can clearly see the load spiking in the SSD whenever lag occurs and the loading times have suddenly became incredibly long too. The game is pretty much suddenly unplayable for me and steam file integrity said all was good. Anyone else having this issue? Last bumped on Dec 26, 2024, 9:07:54 PM

Yep i have this exact same problem. However this happened while allocating resources on the installer. Filled up my ssd completely.
So i removed another app with 38gb size. And you know what? It's still at full cap, even though i did nothing but uninstall another app (didn't start poe2 installer either). So i assume the temp files are filling up the pc. |

Any updates? I think I'm suffering from the safe issue

i don't see where the ssd 'broke' in the OP, but such lag can be due to shader cashe perhaps? patches sometimes can causeissue with those. try to clear the cashe and remove the cashe limit see if that helps? just an idea
