Crazy flickering when clicking the mouse. 7950X3D spiking

I seem to be having issues with PoE2 on my new PC.
90% of the time when i click the mouse im getting weird spikes in CPU latency. when that happens my screen flickers, momentarily exposing the task bar, windows and icons open under the game. It even happens when im on the login screen. the more i click quickly, the more it flickers. holding the click doesnt have the same effect, i can keep attacking with no spikes after the initial click this never happened to me on my old pc, i even tested it afterwards as i still have it, no matter how much i spam click the cpu does not spike whatsoever. tried a variety of settings, both in game and in nvidia control panel and the option that seemed to cause the least flickering was DX11 renderer. still flickered though, not an ideal solution. none of the nvidia settings like DLSS made any difference, v sync or frame caps, both in game and in nvidia control panel tried installing process lasso, checked 'induce performance mode' for poe2 but it did nothing to reduce flickering only other game i tried for now was total war warhammer 2 and no matter how hard i tried the screen did not flicker once even though i was not maintaining 165 frames which is my screen refresh rate let me know if i can provide any additional information. SPECS GPU: 4080 Super CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D, game mode enabled in bios Mobo: MSI MPG X670E TOMAHAWK BIOS: 7E12v1G2 (latest) RAM: 2x16GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z5 6000mhz running in EXPO PSU: Seasonic 850W Platinum OS: Win 11 Home (latest, fresh install) GPU Driver: Game Ready Driver - 566.36 Last bumped on Dec 21, 2024, 7:00:27 PM
