POE2 Weapon swap skill points resetting automatically (bug)

I started with the lightning cluster skill points at the top of the passive tree as core assigned (both weapons).

. I go to the hooded one to respec.
. I reset 10 points from core.
. I set them back as weapons slot 1
. I assign 10 points in the cold cluster to weapon slot 2
. I click apply (no cost)

At this point the apply/cancel buttons do not disappear even though the change has been made.

If I close and reopen the passive tree ui I see the changes have been applied.

Every so often when I check back in, my points have been automatically unassigned and back to being just 10 core points in the lightning cluster with no weapon skill points in the cold cluster. I can't seem to figure out what triggers this. I have noticed it happen without closing the game or leveling up between manual skill reassign and the bug reassigning.

I have this exact same issue, and interestingly enough the nodes I was trying to refund to use on weapon set 2 were also the lightning nodes at the top of the tree. I wonder if it's related to those nodes specifically but I have the same outcome where it looks like the points have been allocated correctly, and then I'll check back moments later and everything has been reset.

Edit: I have tried again but instead refunded lightning nodes at the right side of the tree near 'Wild Storm' and ran into the same issue. The passive tree looks fine but the instant I enter a map, everything has been reset and no weapon swap skill points are assigned

ok, the bug appears if you refund your points and directly respec them. it works, if you refund them, apply it, close the spec window and then afterwards set your points.

If you need to do the refund and reassign in the same operation, I found out you can do so if you have an extra skill point. Wait until you level up, do the respec, then apply the new lvl up point after you have applied the weapon-specific reassign.
